Primary Responsibilities:
- Identifies, contacts and assigns qualified individual(s) to fulfill requested volunteer experiences in a timely manner
- Considers unique skills, interests and passions of volunteers during the selection process to make the best possible match between patient and volunteer
- Makes direct contact with patients and/or family members as appropriate to identify how to best serve their volunteer needs
- Communicates important details to volunteers regarding requests so they feel empowered and prepared to provide a compassionate and memorable experience
- Communicates with members of the interdisciplinary group to provide updates and status of open requests Develops volunteer teams dedicated to fulfilling the mission of specific programs
- Proactively works with members of the interdisciplinary group (IDG) to promote programs and create or identify new and/or additional opportunities for Volunteer placements
- Engages in constant and effective communication with Volunteer Engagement team to provide guidance on skills and resources needed if/as necessary to support programs
- Sends appropriate reminders of upcoming experiences to assigned volunteers
- Creates, administers and analyzes quarterly Client satisfaction surveys; draws conclusions and provides recommendations based on analysis of the data.
- Inactivates volunteers based on established criteria to ensure database is up to date
- Develops efficient and innovative ways to communicate opportunities to the volunteer base
- Meets all project/department milestones and goals on a consistent basis
- Reviews and approves volunteer contact notes
- Participates in meetings involving Volunteer Services, the IDG and others as necessary
- Creates and monitors self-scheduling assignments to identify gaps in coverage
- Updates the plan of care (POC) as appropriate
- Assists with Volunteer appreciation events
- Researches best practices in volunteer utilization
- Adheres to Community Hospice & Palliative Care’s core values
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree (preferred) or equivalent combination of work experience and education
- 2+ years of recruiting/placement or related experience preferred
- Hospice or other not for profit agency experience a plus
- • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MicroSoft Office and MicroSoft Outlook
- Typing proficiency of at least 40 WPM
- Innovative mindset
- Motivated self-starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service ability
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple activities
Work location:
- St. Augustine
Main coverage responsibilities:
- Cover volunteer requests for the St. Johns, Beaches and Clay County Home Care Teams and the PedsCare program.
